Smart Mobile OSEdit
SMOS first started as 'Smart Mobile OS' which was later bought by ATS in 1995. The first system was very difficult to maintain. Operating it was very similar to a calculator until ATS gave it a major facelift.
After ATS bought SMOS, it attracted the attention of the mobile consumer market very quickly. Infact, it was cherished that much, that the consumer market was angry when SMOS was pulled in November 2001. However, the SmartOS release at the time (SmartOS 3.3) was made to look exactly like the last SMOS release - SMOS 1.83.
